Panthers prospects to watch in the Calder Cup playoffs

Although the Panthers did not make the playoffs this year, many of their young assets will play postseason hockey with the AHL-affiliate San Antonio Rampage, who are competing in the Calder Cup playoffs.

Florida fans will recognize a familiar face in Alexander Petrovic, who played in 33 games for the Cats this season, but three other players to keep an eye on are less recognizable.

Examiner.com listed forwards Quinton Howden, Rocco Grimaldi and Conner Brickley as young players who could make an impact in Florida in the near future. Here's what Examiner had to say about each:

Quinton Howden

Rocco Grimaldi

"The 23-year-old played in 64 games for the Rampage this season. Grimaldi recorded 14 goals and 28 assists. He also played in seven games for the Panthers this season and Grimaldi even recorded his first NHL goal against the Nashville Predators."

Conner Brickley

"In his first full season in the AHL in 2014-2015, Conner Brickley finished with 22 goals and 25 assist in 73 games. The 23-year-old finished second on the Rampage in points and third in assist. Overall, Brickley finished six in points among all AHL rookies."
