Kentucky is no longer Drake's favorite college basketball team

To loosely quote the movie “Forrest Gump,” over the years Kentucky basketball and Drake have gone together like peas and carrots. But after Drake got Kentucky hit with an NCAA violation earlier summer -- no seriously, that actually happened -- could the relationship between the two be waning?

It seems like that could be the case, since on Tuesday night, pictures surfaced of Drake, potentially stepping out on the college basketball program which was supposedly his one true love. Even worse? He was seen canoodling with players on one of Kentucky’s biggest rivals: The Duke Blue Devils.

That’s right, Duke freshman star Jayson Tatum (a member of Fox’s 2024 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team) posted this picture on Instagram, where he is joined by fellow freshmen Marques Bolden and Harry Giles III, as well as Drake himself.

And in a funny twist, as College Spun pointed out this morning, if you look closely at the comments, you’ll see that apparently there was one Blue Devil who was mad he missed the party. See that frowning emoji from “@GraysonJAllen”? Yes, that is the official Instagram account of the Duke forward.

Still, for any Kentucky fan that is worried about Drake abandoning them for the Blue Devils (the heavy favorite heading into this season), don’t worry just yet.

For one, Drake still made time to hang with John Calipari earlier this summer.

And two, we all know that Drake’s love for Duke won’t be official until he ends up at a Blue Devils’ practice and air-balls an uncontested three.
