ST. LOUIS -- Cardinals infielder and father to a new baby girl Jedd Gyorko is back with the team.

On Sunday, the Cardinals activated Gyorko from the paternity list. St. Louis optioned outfielder Magneuris Sierra to the Memphis Redbirds, the team's Triple-A affiliate, in a corresponding move.

In his second short stint with the Cardinals this season, Sierra appeared in just one game of the two he was called up for. Sierra went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He's now hitting .375 on the season with eight runs, three RBI and one stolen base.

Gyorko looks to regain his spot at third base and help power the Cardinals offense upon his return. Gyorko was hitting .321 on the season going into Sunday's game with 21 runs, eight homers, 22 RBI and two stolen bases.
