Dee Gordon apologizes to Marlins fans: 'I thought I would never fail a drug test'
Dee Gordon played a total of 21 games for the Miami Marlins this season before getting hit with an 80-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs. The ban was a shocker given Gordon’s small stature and lack of power, and it was one that seriously hurt the Marlins, who entered Thursday just four games back of the first-place Nationals in the NL East.
On Thursday night, he returned from the ban and went 0 for 4. The speedy second baseman will return to his usual role as a base-stealer and a guy who hits for average, which the Marlins could use in front of Giancarlo Stanton.
Prior to Thursday’s game, Gordon issued an apology to his fans.

Gordon went on discuss how he’ll turn this mistake into a positive and that he will use this slip-up to teach his son how to hold himself accountable.
Prior to being suspended, Gordon was hitting .266 with six stolen bases after leding the NL with a .333 average, 205 hits and 58 steals in 2015.
