Allen Iverson is making a comeback with other retired NBA stars (sort of)
I gotta say, today was a good day.
Allen Iverson announced he's making a comeback, along with other retired NBA stars, in a new halfcourt, 3-on-3 league launched by Ice Cube called BIG3. Iverson will play for and coach one of the eight teams that begin play June 24.
"When I got the call, it was a no-brainer, you know what I mean?” Iverson told reporters at Wednesday's press conference. “It’s Ice Cube. It's O'Shea. You don’t turn that down. That’s success looking you right into your eyes. I just want to be a part of it, you know what I mean, and I hope me being a part of it makes it a success.”

So if you're an old school hoops head who's been missing guys like AI, Gary Payton and Jason Williams, they may soon be coming to a city near you.
“This started off as a dream. It sucks to see your favorite player retire,” Cube said. “It sucks. It’s nothing good about it. Especially, when you know they still got game.”
The league will have its own style of play and set of rules. There will be musical introductions, postgame autographs, and a 4-point shot. Maybe even Cube will lace 'em up himself, mess around and get a triple-double.
One guy who won't lace 'em up: Michael Jordan. AI reminded TMZ that MJ's older than him — "and I'm old as hell!"
