Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks agree to four-year, $100M extension
Milwaukee Bucks swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension that will be signed Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports.
The Bucks drafted Antetokounmpo 15th overall when he was just 18 years old, but he’s grown into one of the league’s most versatile players in his first three seasons. He began his career as a small forward but became a 6-foot-11 point guard late last season, and Bucks coach Jason Kidd has said he’ll continue to play at that spot in 2016-17.
Antetokounmpo posted career-high averages in points (16.9), rebounds (7.7), assists (4.3), steals (1.2) and blocks (1.4) last season, but the Bucks regressed to a 33-49 record after Antetokounmpo led them to the playoffs with a 41-41 record the season before.
According to ESPN, the extension is for less than the league maximum and there are no team or player options included.
