Terrell Suggs talks trash to his own quarterback Schaub
Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has never been shy to exchange pleasantries to opposing quarterbacks, but now he's getting on his own teammate.
Backup quarterback Matt Schaub, who has struggled with accuracy in training camp, was at the receiving end of a Suggs barb during practice over the weekend.
"Hey Matt, your guys are the guys in purple," Suggs shouted at Schaub after the quarterback badly overthrew his target on consecutive passes, per ESPN.com.
Schaub has thrown several interceptions in practice, continuing a trend that started during his final season in Houston and continued with Oakland last year. Head coach John Harbaugh gave Schaub a vote of confidence despite the erratic play.
"I feel great about Matt Schaub as a backup quarterback," Harbaugh said last week via ESPN.com. "Matt is a heck of a backup quarterback, because he’s a good player, and we feel comfortable that Matt can win for us."
Schaub was signed to a one-year deal worth a fully guaranteed $2 million to back up Joe Flacco this season. Flacco has started 112 straight games since assuming the starting job as a rookie in 2008.
