Broncos reportedly talking to Cowboys about Mark Sanchez trade

Mark Sanchez's standing on the Denver Broncos' roster appears to be tenuous at best, so much so that the team appears to be gauging his trade value.

The Broncos reached out to the Cowboys on Monday regarding their interest in the veteran quarterback, NFL Network reported. But, according to the report, Dallas doesn't want any part of Sanchez's $4.5 million contract.

The Cowboys' potential interest in Sanchez makes sense after Tony Romo suffered a broken bone in his back last Thursday and is expected to miss 10 weeks. Though Dak Prescott has been stellar this preseason, Dallas is still in need of depth at quarterback.

The Broncos on Monday named Trevor Siemian as the Week 1 starter, leaving Sanchez in limbo. According to the report, Denver GM John Elway is hoping to land a late-round pick for the veteran quarterback rather than just releasing him.
