Report: Bucs withdraw offer to Demar Dotson because of absence

Offensive tackle Demar Dotson is doing his best to push the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a new contract, even going as far as not showing up at OTAs.

Apparently, that wasn't the best move by him. According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs have now decided to withdraw an offer that included a raise and extension to Dotson, because he has skipped the team activities.

"The Bucs have in turn withdrawn a multiyear offer for a raise and extension to his existing contract, citing a policy of not negotiating with players while they are absent from team activities. If Dotson's absence extends to next week's three-day mandatory minicamp, he faces potential fines, as well." Auman explained.

Dotson signed a three-year extension back in 2013, which pays him $2.5 million this season, but he's unhappy with that and is looking for a bump in pay. With that said, it seems that if Dotson wants to earn a bump in pay from the Bucs, he'll need to return to practice and work on the deal at the same time.
