Not so bright: Bills claim Detroit fans shined laser pointer on players

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone says the team filed a complaint to NFL security officials alleging someone shined a laser pointer from the stands at his players during their game at Detroit on Sunday.

Marrone says quarterback Kyle Orton and holder Colton Schmidt informed him during the game they both had lasers shined at them. The team then followed league protocol by informing NFL security staff. Marrone said the issue was eventually resolved before the game ended.

Buffalo beat the Lions 17-14 on Dan Carpenter's 58-yard field goal with 4 seconds left.

NFL spokesman Michael Signora said the league does not have any specific information on what happened because it has not yet received a report for its security representative in Detroit.

The Lions had no immediate comment.
