Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is scheduled to return to court Nov. 18 in an attempt to resolve charges stemming from an alleged street-racing accident.

Dareus attended a hearing Tuesday in Hamburg Town Justice Court in an attempt to reach a plea deal but did not appear before the judge. Dareus' lawyer, Michael Caffrery, declined comment on his way out of the courtroom.

Dareus was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment after crashing his 2012 Jaguar into a tree May 30. The accident occurred near a busy suburban Buffalo intersection and after Dareus was alleged to be racing Bills linebacker Jerry Hughes.

The 24-year-old Dareus was also ticketed on suspicion of numerous traffic violations, including leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and taking part in an illegal race.
