Controversial Cowboys DE Greg Hardy hosting post-Thanksgiving game club party

Published Nov. 18, 2015 3:14 p.m. ET

After the Dallas Cowboys finish up their annual Thanksgiving Day game next week against the Carolina Panthers, Greg Hardy -- along with “teammates” -- will host a Turkey Day bash at TBD Club, a trendy Dallas nightspot.

The event is being billed as a “Welcome to Dallas” party, presumably meaning its intent is to celebrate Hardy’s arrival in town. Given that the defensive end signed with the Cowboys all the way back in March -- and has since served a reduced four-game suspension and gone on to become the source of seemingly endless controversy -- one could assert that the party might be a few months late, as Hardy clearly has made his presence known in Dallas and no welcome is really needed at this point.

The Dallas Morning News reports that to attend the swanky soiree, it will cost partygoers aged 21 and over “$300 for a bottle of your choice and five guests or $600 for two bottles of your choice and eight guests.” Sounds reasonable. But for those who cannot afford those prices, get there early as a $20 cover charge will also get people in the door, space permitting.

Regarding dress code, one should wear “upscale fashionable attire,” meaning for men “baseball caps, sandals, sneakers, and boots, ripped or baggy clothing and athletic wear” will not be permitted.

Given the debacle in Dallas as it relates to Hardy -- and consequently his decision to host a party in light of all the trouble -- it should be noted that there’s no mention of whether guys sporting Bad Idea Jeans will be allowed entry. In light of everything that has happened so far -- not to mention everything that could go wrong this party -- perhaps they probably should.
