Eli Manning gives a fantastic response when asked if the Vikings have his number
Eli Manning understandably appears goofy or aloof to the casual observer but there's much more to the guy.
Foremost, he's a prank artist, deemed "The Godfather" of gags and is “legendary at conceiving pranks and enlisting equipment managers to execute them." That includes dipping all the starting linemen's expensive shoes in purple paint.
With that in mind, here's how the 35-year-old responded on Wednesday when asked why the Vikings, whom he's struggled against in the past, have had his number. Via the New York Daily News:
“I don’t think anybody, eh, I don’t think anybody has my phone number on the Vikings,” Manning deadpanned, looking at the floor to avoid eye-contact with laughing reporters. “Maybe [former Giant] Linval [Joseph], I’m not sure. I’m trying to think if I have anybody’s number. Maybe somebody I’m sure. I have [Vikings quarterback Sam] Bradford. I have his number. He’s got my number. Can’t think of anybody else’s off-hand, though. I’ll look through my phone and get back to you.”
Ladies and gentlemen, Eli Manning. On Monday night he'll need to dial up plenty of Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard and Victor Cruz (and get some protection) if the Giants are going to get past the 3-0 Vikings.
