Report: Bill O'Brien not interested in Maryland job
Despite a speculation to the contrary, a report out of Houston says Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is uninterested in a return to the Big Ten.
Per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, O'Brien has "no interest" in the vacant head coach position at the University of Maryland.
This, after a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports said O'Brien was indeed intrigued by the idea of a return to the college ranks and that officials and boosters at Maryland were aware of his interest.
O'Brien is only in his second season with Houston, but according to La Canfora, the coach may face an uncertain future with owner Bob McNair reportedly be mulling a change in the team's current power structure involving O'Brien and general manager Rick Smith.
The 46-year-old O'Brien spent two seasons as running backs coach at Maryland from 2003-04 and was previously a head coach in the Big Ten with Penn State, from 2012-2013.
The Texans take on the Bengals on Monday night.
