The decision by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan to retain head coach Gus Bradley for the 2016 season was met with enthusiasm inside the Jacksonville locker room.

Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles said he was pleased Bradley will get another year to continue shaping the team into a playoff contender.

“Awesome,” Bortles said. “I honestly didn’t expect anything different. I can speak from a locker room standpoint, everybody believes in Gus and his culture and philosophy. We’re behind him. We’re happy that’s kind of out there and it’s been said by Shad and we’re excited about what’s to come in the future. We have one more week to take care of first.”

If there were a second paragraph, it would go here.

Bradley is just 12-35 in three seasons as head coach, including 5-10 so far this year. While the results haven't been there thus far, defensive tackle Roy Miller said the onus is on the players to make the team into a winner.

“We feel like Gus has created a great culture and we just need to take advantage of it as individuals on this team,” Miller said. “We have a lot of room to improve as a defense. We just need to do it, execute the plays that are called and grow up.”

The Jaguars close out the season on the road against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
