Jerry Jones seems to be waffling on his Tony Romo-Dak Prescott stance
A week ago, Jerry Jones definitively knew the answer. Now, when asked who will be the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback when Tony Romo is cleared to return, the outspoken owner isn’t as sure.
Following the Cowboys’ 30-16 win over the Packers that pushed Dallas’ record to 5-1, reporters peppered Jones with Romo questions, especially after Dak Prescott threw three touchdowns to propel the victory. Prescott’s latest performance must have made a big impression on Jones.
“What we’re going to do is, wait until the next card’s played,” Jones said, according to CBS Sports.
This is far from his stance last Sunday, when Jones said “Tony is our No. 1 quarterback.” The rookie combination of Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott have transformed the Cowboys from a team that was once solely dependent on Romo to a group that might be ready to move on from the Pro Bowl quarterback.
