Khan spokesman dismisses talk of Jags moving to London
The rumors of a Jacksonville Jaguars move to London just won't go away.
The latest come in the wake of the the NFL's new 10-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League to host games at the Spurs' new stadium in London.
The London Evening Standard reported that Jaguars owner Shad Khan, whose team has a multi-year agreement to play one game per season in London, was interested in buying Tottenham and relocating the Jaguars on a permanent basis.
A spokesman for Khan, who currently owns second-division Fullham, issued a firm denial.
"These reports are nonsense and complete fiction," the spokesman said, via the Evening Standard.
Speculation that the Jaguars may move to London has been bubbling for years given Khan's soccer ownership there as well as the NFL's expanded presence in UK. Khan has consistently maintained the team has no plans to leave Jacksonville.
