Report: Seahawks grow tired of RB Marshawn Lynch

Published Oct. 26, 2014 12:55 p.m. ET

A week after jettisoning wide receiver Percy Harvin, reports have surfaced Sunday morning that the Seattle Seahawks have grown tired of running back Marshawn Lynch.

While the veteran running back isn't on the trading block, Lynch will be on his way out of the organization for several reasons, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, citing sources. The report suggests that even Lynch doesn't expect to be on the roster in 2015. FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer confirmed the report on Sunday morning's pregame show.

Lynch's possible contribution to locker-room distractions with his training-camp holdout and no-show at the White House Super Bowl celebration are reasons for this latest development, the report references.

With an $8.5 million cap number and a base salary of $5 million in 2015, Lynch coming off the books would assuredly be a bonus for Seattle.
