The Miami defensive effort yesterday was atrocious.  Although the Dolphins won it wasn’t without having to score 34 points off the back of 32 Jay Ajayi runs.

The Buffalo Bills aren’t the first to expose Miami’s defense.  Defensive coordinator Vance Josephs run defense has looked despicable.  Regardless, Miami finds themselves 10-5 and on the door of the playoffs.

The 34-31 OT victory over the Bills yesterday put Miami in position to clinch with the help of the Kansas City Chiefs tonight.  All that needs to happen is the Denver Broncos lose and us Dolphins fans can celebrate.

That’s not the only way Miami can clinch, however.  If they win out by beating the New England Patriots they’re also in.  Here are a few other scenarios to look for:

To finish as a 5th seed

*Note: If Miami finishes as a 5th seed they’d likely get the AFC South champion Houston Texans, a much more favorable matchup than an AFC North team.

To finish as a 6th seed
