Bill Belichick mutters 'Jesus Christ' when asked about a possible QB controversy

The New England Patriots aren’t typically a team with a quarterback controversy, and there won’t be one this season, either. Tom Brady, however, won’t be the starter for the first four weeks due to his Deflategate suspension.

Brady is eligible to return in Week 5 against the Browns, which is when he’ll take back his starting role. Some, however, still believe there’s a chance Jimmy Garoppolo remains the starter after Brady comes back. Bill Belichick is not one of those people, and he’s tired of answering ludicrous questions about it.

He was asked about a possible Week 5 quarterback controversy on Friday, which led to this hilarious exchange where Belichick mutters “Jesus Christ” under his breath after saying “I told you what’s going to happen.”

Can you blame him? Garoppolo could go 4-0 with 24 touchdowns and zero interceptions, and Brady would still be the starter in Week 5. Not that Garoppolo or any quarterback would put up those numbers in a four-game span, but even if he did, it wouldn’t be enough.
