Patriots punter earns $34K paycheck without having to punt once vs. Jags
The New England Patriots offense was so explosive on Sunday that they didn't have to punt once.
That fact means Patriots punter Ryan Allen earned a $34,441 game check for not booting any balls.
"It never really works that way," Allen told reporters after the game. "This is kind of a once in a blue moon deal. [The offense] did a heck of a job today. I was just focused on my job and my job today was being ready if I was needed to punt and if we crossed over the 50-yard line, be ready for holds and to have good operations for Steve [Gostkowski]. And I think we did a good job today."
Allen, however, was available on all of Stephen Gostkowski's kicks which means it was money well earned.
Allen, whose base salary in 2015 is $585,000 according to Spotrac.com, signed a three-year extension with the Patriots this past July.
