The New Orleans Saints have wrapped up their final roster cuts, and one that probably caught the eye was a former New York Giant. As Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reported, the Saints decided to part ways with safety Kenny Phillips.
Phillips is 28, and was a first-round pick by the New York Giants back in 2008. The former Giant, who hasn't played in a regular season game since 2012, was a bit of a longshot to make the roster.
It was setting up to be a great story, as Garafolo explains, but the Saints chose to go in a different direction.
