Saints block punt, recover it for a TD with Steve Gleason in attendance
Steve Gleason is symbolic of courage, strength and relentless fight.
The former New Orleans Saints player, who suffers from ALS, was given an inspirational tribute before Thursday night's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Gleason's playing career is best remembered for the blocked punt, which became iconic for the City of New Orleans as they recovered from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
On Thursday night, Saints linebacker Michael Mauti blocked Matt Bosher's punt, recovered it and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was certainly a flashback as the two plays are eerily similar.
