New York Giants ticket sales down from 2014 on secondary market
The excitement surrounding New York Giants Rookie of the Year, Odell Beckham Jr., has apparently worn off for some fans. Those in attendance during the Week 12 home game when Beckham made the catch certainly got a treat, but what about the fans who attended the other seven home games?
The Giants missed the postseason for a second year in a row, and their home record over the last two seasons is 7-9. As Jesse Lawrence of Forbes points out, Giants fans are proceeding with caution when it comes to making plans to bring the family and friends out to the home games at MetLife Stadium in 2015.
According to TiqIQ, the current average price for tickets is $281.73 across the eight regular season home games at MetLife Stadium. This number is down 13 percent from the secondary market average prior to the 2014 season.
Although the average has dropped, some of the Giants' featured home games are drawing interest. The current average price for the Giants' home game against the Cowboys in Week 7 is $413.07. Tickets to the Week Sunday Night Football matchup with the 49ers in Week 5 has an average of $289.25 and a get-in price of $110.
