Son of Jets coach trashes players on Twitter, Cromartie responds
The son of New York Jets tight ends coach Jimmie Johnson displayed some of the most foolish Twitter behavior we have ever seen.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Jay Busbee, Johnson’s son was tweeting from the Twitter handle “@JimmieJ82” from the Jets locker room after the team’s loss to the Eagles Sunday. In one tweet he called Geno Smith a “bum a–” and shared a photo of the quarterback taking a photo with some kids:
Next he took aim at Antonio Cromartie. What he probably wasn’t planning for was to get a response from the cornerback, which is what happened. Take a look:
Johnson deleted the tweets, apologized for them, and changed his Twitter handle. Here are the apologies from his new account:
"Those tweets were really stupid on my part. Will apologize to both of them if I get the chance."
And we all thought Marshawn Lynch’s mom was creating a controversy with her comments? This was easily the most questionable use of Twitter by a coach or athlete’s family member we’ve seen.
