NFL draft order: Complete list of first-round picks for 2015 NFL Draft

We still have some time to wait for the 2015 NFL draft, but the speculation on picks can officially ramp up.

The NFL released the tenative order for first-round picks on Monday, with the 20 non-playoff teams set in stone and the 12 that did make the playoffs still pending final positioning based on outcome.

The draft order is determined by the following procedures, per an NFL news release:

• The Super Bowl champion will select last and the loser of the Super Bowl next-to-last in all rounds, regardless of the record of such participating clubs in the regular season.

• The losers of the conference championship games will select 29th and 30th in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.

• The losers of the divisional playoff games will select in the 25th through 28th positions in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.

• The losers of the wild card games will select in the 21st through 24th positions in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.

• Clubs not participating in the playoffs shall select in the first through 20th positions in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.

For teams with the same record, a strength-of-schedule tiebreaker is applied to determine the order, with the teams that faced the weaker schedule picking before those that faced a stronger schedule.

If ties still exist, the divisional or conference tie-breaking method, if applicable, will be applied. If neither the divisional nor the conference tie-breaking methods are applicable, ties shall be broken by a coin flip.

The tie between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers was broken by the division tie-breaker. Since Kansas City defeated San Diego twice in head-to-head competition, San Diego is given priority in the draft order and will select in the 17th position, with Kansas City in the 18th position.

Teams involved in two-team ties will alternate positions from round-to-round. In ties that involve three or more teams, the team at the top of a tied segment in a given round will move to the bottom of the segment for the next round, while all other team in the segment move up one position. This rotation continues throughout the draft.
