Raiders return two top targets to help out Derek Carr

Published Sep. 6, 2015 11:41 p.m. ET

The Raiders offense just got a little deeper in advance of its season-opening game this weekend.

Tight end Clive Walford (hamstring) and receiver Andre Holmes (hand) both returned to practice, according to CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair.

That's good news for a Raiders passing game that needs some end-zone closers. Walford, the team's third-round pick out of Miami (Fla.), hasn't suited up much since training camp started. Likewise, Holmes has missed every practice since Aug. 13 with a hand fracture.

Derek Carr would be happy to see both in his huddle against the Bengals on Sept. 13. His last outing -- a dismal five field-goal performance -- proved that the passing game isn't clicking quite yet.
