Odell Beckham Jr. tops Rob Gronkowski for 'Madden 16' cover
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will grace the cover of "Madden 16," it was announced Wednesday.
Beckham, heading into his second NFL season, accrued the most votes and downed New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Beckham was the Giants' No. 1 pick out of LSU in 2014, going 12th overall. He had a dazzling year, playing in 12 games and notching 91 receptions on 132 targets. Beckham caught 12 touchdown passes and averaged 14.3 yards per grab.
At 22, he will become the youngest player on the Madden cover.
Beckham is also the first Giant to be on the box cover. Peyton Hillis played for New York, but that was well after he earned the cover in 2011 for "Madden 12" after a great season with the Cleveand Browns in 2010.
As for Gronk, well, he will have to settle for being Gronk, which since winning the Super Bowl has been pretty good.
Huge shout out to my @LSUfball brother @OBJ_3 on the @EAMaddenNFL cover! Well deserved! #MaddenCover #ImStillDaChamp pic.twitter.com/kgTvtxrB0d
