With Rams moving, St. Louis mayor rips NFL, says he has 'no appetite' for another team

Breaking up is hard to do. St. Louis and football know all about it.

Now that the Rams belong to Los Angeles once again, football is leaving St. Louis for the second time (the Cardinals left for Phoenix in 1988).

St. Louis mayor Francis Slay tried to keep the Rams from departing, offering up a task force that offered up a possible new stadium for the Rams. Owner Stan Kroenke was not moved.

Slay didn't really pull any punches on Tuesday once word of the Rams' move to Los Angeles became official. Here's what he tweeted:

Fans seemed to echo Slay's sentiments on Tuesday night at the St Louis Blues game by going after Kroenke.

He went further on Wednesday, saying he has "no appetite" for seeking another NFL team, based on what he called the dishonest way St. Louis was dealt with over the stadium issue.

Well, tell us how you really feel. The decision ends the NFL's 21-year absence in Los Angeles.

"It is bittersweet," Kroenke said. "We understand the emotions involved of our fans. It is not easy to do these things, they are purposely made hard.

"We made a decision and worked long and hard at the various alternatives. When they didn't succeed, we worked this one to this point. We're excited."
