Raiders' road win over Chargers 'felt like a home game'

The Chargers lost their fifth game of the season on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium.

You'd never guess it by analyzing the crowd, though. Visiting Raiders fans set up shop in San Diego and made the Chargers home their "Black Hole South."

“It really felt like a home game,” Raiders quarterback Derek Carr told CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair. “You have to give credit to our fans."

Chargers management, not fans, bear the blame for Sunday's fan disparity. The team announced its intentions to relocate to Los Angeles last week. A deflated and defeated fan base didn't show.

Of course, the Raiders could ultimately join their Week 7 foes in the City of Angels. As evidenced on Sunday, their team has quite the following in southern California.

“We had a big run early and I heard the crowd go nuts,” linebacker Malcolm Smith said. “I was suddenly confused, because I thought they would be cheering for someone else. It was interesting.”
