NFL expert expects Alec Ogletree to make 'significant impact' in 2015
Among the 10 training camp risers NFL media's Gil Brandt pegged will have a "significant impact" in 2015, Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree made the cut.
During his first two seasons, Ogletree recorded 228 tackles, 22 pass deflections and three interceptions, including one that went for a 98-yard return touchdown.
Still, Ogletree desired to improved.
He acknowledged he dropped weight prior to training camp to get in better shape, and "fly around and make plays."
Per Brandt, he's noticed a much different Ogletree in camp, too: "Ogletree has started 32 games over the past two years, notching 100-plus tackles in each of those seasons, but he's still not talked about like a Pro Bowl cinch. In St. Louis, I saw a guy who has much better recognition skills -- an area in which his game had been lacking -- than ever before. The benefits of the experience he's gotten have shown dramatically in him this preseason."
If Ogletree can play this season as advertised thus far, the Rams defense will be even better in 2015.
