Connor Barth's free agent tweet works, Buccaneers bring him back

Published Oct. 6, 2015 1:30 p.m. ET

Connor Barth took to Twitter on Sunday as kickers all over the NFL struggled. His goal? To let NFL teams know that he's single and ready to mingle.

As you can tell from the tweet, it came right around the time that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his former team, were dealing with kicking woes from Kyle Brindza. The Buccaneers chose to release Brindza and went back to the drawing board at place kicker.

Now, as Chris Wesseling of NFL.com reports, it seems that Barth's tweet may have helped him to get his job back in Tampa Bay.

As Wesseling reports, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com first broke the news, but Barth signed a two-year deal that is worth a maximum of $2.75 million.

Barth spent 2009 to 2013 with the Buccaneers, and now he'll get the chance to turn around the kicking game in Tampa.
