Lovie Smith says if Logan Mankins sits out, 'he has a serious injury'

While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain hopeful that Logan Mankins' recent groin injury isn't too serious, Lovie Smith was pretty honest about the whole situation.

When speaking about Mankins missing time, Smith said that the injury must be pretty serious, according to Roy Cummings of The Tampa Tribune.

“If Logan Mankins is out, he has a serious injury,’’ Smith told The Tampa Tribune. “That’s the only thing that would keep him out.’’

As noted, Mankins suffered the injury two weeks ago, and missed Tampa Bay's last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mankins could very well miss the game on Sunday against Washington, which would be big news, as he's one of the leaders of this offensive line.

It's a situation worth monitoring as we get closer to Sunday.
