Report: Deal set for $100 million in upgrades to Raymond James Stadium
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to make a push to bring the Super Bowl in 2019 or 2020 to town, and have just made a big step towards setting themselves up to do that.
According to Mike Salinero of The Tampa Tribune, the Tampa Sports Authority and the Buccaneers have agreed in principle to a deal that will set up the team for $100 million in upgrades to Raymond James Stadium.
While it's obviously a massive move, Salinero explains that the improvements would include giving the team the third-largest video board square footage in the NFL. To tack on to that, the stadium would also be receiving upgrades to their sound system, concessions and concourse area.
It's all early yet it seems, but this is great news for the Buccaneers, and it'll make them a serious player for the upcoming Super Bowls.
