Harry Douglas: Hiring Terry Robiskie 'a great move' by Titans

Terry Robiskie takes over as offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans with a familiar face among his new players.

Tennessee wide receiver Harry Douglas played seven seasons under Robiskie with the Atlanta Falcons before joiing the Titans in 2015

The veteran receiver said his younger teammates, including quarterback Marcus Mariota, will benefit from working with Robiskie.

“He is a great guy and he makes the game of football easy for young guys,’’ Douglas said. “When I came in as a rookie, he made the game of football so much more fun for me, and he makes it where you can just play the game. And the same with (Falcons receiver) Julio (Jones). And he helped Roddy (White) get on track. He’ll be good for (Marcus).”

Douglas said the Tennessee offense, which finished 30th in the NFL in 2015 should also develop a clear identity under Robiskie and head coach Mike Mularkey.

“No.1, I know we are going to be a tough football team with these guys,’’ Douglas said. “We are going to run the football, we are going to be able to pass the football, but the main thing is we are just going to be efficient, and do things that fit the strengths of the players.

“The way those guys operate, they demand excellence. They are not cool with being mediocre; that doesn’t fly with those guys. They know how to push their players to get the best of their players. I think it’s a great move, it’s the right move.”

Douglas posted the best season of his career playing for Robiskie, catching 85 passes for 1,067 yards and two touchdowns in 2013.
