Sources: Seahawks TE Zach Miller undergoes ankle procedure during bye week
Seattle Seahawks tight end Zach Miller underwent an ankle procedure last week, multiple sources told FOXSports.com.
Miller is expected to be sidelined with the injury an extended period of time. Despite being named on the injury report before the bye week, Miller played the entire game against the Denver Broncos. Miller had two receptions for 12 yards.
The Seahawks must keep Miller on the 53-man roster or place him on the season-ending injured reserve list. Cornerback Jeremy Lane was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list earlier this month, which each team is allowed one player a season.
The Seahawks have tight ends Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet on the active roster.
Miller, who was plagued by a foot injury last season, had 33 receptions for 387 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2013. During the offseason, the Seahawks restructured his contract, calling for him to make $3 million each year with incentives.
