Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella blows gasket on refs after OT loss

Folks, you're not going to believe this, but John Tortorella got very angry on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jackets coach was steamed following his team's overtime loss to the Canadiens in Montreal and he stormed across the ice to let the officials know about immediately after the final horn. Tortorella was apparently very displeased with a penalty call that led to the game-winning power play goal from Habs forward Alex Galchenyuk.

After chewing out the referees with some naughty language, the coach had to be guided off the ice by his players and staff. The outburst isn't exactly out of character for Tortorella, who has a reputation for being one of the most emotional and animated coaches in the league.

After all, this is the same guy who nearly came to blows with an opposing team outside of their locker room a few years ago.

I won't knock Torts for being emotionally invested in his team, but I'm not sure this level of verbal protest was necessary on Tuesday, especially considering the Canadiens appeared to get shafted earlier in the overtime period.
