Wolves sign Lance Stephenson to second 10-day contract
The Minnesota Timberwolves signed swingman Lance Stephenson to a second 10-day contract Wednesday after his first was interrupted by an ankle injury.
The Wolves will need to sign Stephenson for the rest of the season if they want to keep him around after his new contract runs out.
Originally signed to a 10-day deal on Feb. 8, Stephenson has made four appearances for Minnesota, averaging 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds.
A second-round pick of the Indiana Pacers in 2010, Stephenson spent four years there, helping the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2014 before signing with the Charlotte Hornets as a free agent.
His career has since been derailed by injuries.
Stephenson has played for the L.A. Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans over the last two seasons, and was most recently released by the Pelicans in September after suffering a groin injury.
