The Baltimore Ravens will air Michael Phelps' next final race live at M&T Stadium

After spending just about half his life in the Olympic spotlight it feels like there is just about everything there is to know about Michael Phelps.

In the process of seeing Phelps grow from boy to man (incredibly he made his Olympic debut at just 15-years-old), we’ve seen the good and the bad, gotten to know both he and his mom (as well as his wife and new born) not to mention plenty of personal information about him as well. That includes his all-out love affair with his hometown Baltimore Ravens.

But understand that love-affair isn’t one-sided, as the folks of Baltimore and the Ravens themselves seem to very much love Phelps as well. The Ravens even sent out a tweet on Wednesday announcing that they will stream Phelps’ next big race, the final of the 200-meter individual medley live at M&T Stadium on Thursday during their preseason game with the Panthers.

That’s a really cool gesture by the hometown team, showing appreciation for the hometown boy. Not to mention that it also shouldn’t hurt ticket sales: Now Ravens fans don’t have to worry about missing the race, but instead can watch with 80,000 of their closest friends.

The Ravens' display is also just one small part of the Baltimore contingent cheering Phelps on in Rio. Earlier on Wednesday, former Baltimore star — and good buddy of Phelps — Ray Lewis sent out a slew of tweets honoring Phelps.

It’s cool to see the whole community rallying around Phelps.

We can only imagine what would happen if Phelps takes home another gold or two before its all said and done.
