Bio

Peter Schrager serves as an NFL insider and reporter for FOX and FS1 and is one of the hosts on the 2022 Emmy Award-winning “Good Morning Football.” Since 2018, Schrager has been a fixture for FOX NFL KICKOFF, playing an integral role on the show as the program’s journalist in-studio. In addition to his work in-studio, Schrager serves as a sideline reporter on multiple FOX NFL games per season and has been on the sidelines for various postseason games over the years. He’s an alternate voter for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  

Schrager joined FOX Sports in 2006 writing for FOXSports.com and in 2021, he reprised his role as the site’s senior writer with his popular FOX NFL Cheat Sheet column. 

Schrager’s “Flying Coach” podcast, which he co-hosted with Rams head coach Sean McVay, is still one of the most-downloaded NFL podcasts.  

Beginning with the launch of FS1 in 2013, Schrager began making regular appearances on the network, serving as an in-studio NFL insider and on-site NFL reporter. He has landed several exclusive sit-down interviews with athletes and features highlighting some of the lesser-known stories in the sports world. He has covered every Super Bowl for FOX in some capacity since 2005, the 2014 Winter Olympics from Sochi, and the NFL and NBA Drafts for the network, and has been the sideline reporter for several FOX NFL broadcasts. He served as an analyst for the 2017 NFL Draft for NFL Network.

In addition to his work with FOX Sports, Schrager has been the host of “Good Morning Football,”the 2022 Emmy Award-winning show for Outstanding Studio Show—Daily, since 2016. He also is a weekly guest on Colin Cowherd’s show, “The Herd.” and Bill Simmons’ “B.S. Report.” He’s also one of the leading voices in NFL Draft coverage, having covered the event in person since 2005, and now serving as one of the on-air analysts for the NFL Draft Scouting Combine and the NFL Draft on the NFL Network.  

Schrager spent time as an editorial contributor for “Inside the NFL” on Showtime, winning a Sports Emmy in 2013 for Outstanding Studio Show – Weekly. Schrager also is an accomplished author who has written two books: “Strength of a Champion” with OJ Brigance (2013), and the New York Times Best Seller “Out of the Blue” with Victor Cruz (2012).

Born in Freehold, N.J., Schrager attended Freehold Township High School. He graduated from Emory University in 2004 with a major in political science. While at Emory, Schrager wrote for the “Emory Wheel,” the student newspaper, and hosted a popular, on-campus weekly radio show. Schrager lists his most unusual and most enjoyable job-related memory as fishing with Randy Moss for three days at Big Bear Lake in California.
