Watch Moussa Dembele score a brilliant goal after Man City falls apart at the back
This is not a drill. Brendan Rodgers' (yes, THAT Brendan Rodgers) Celtic went toe-to-toe with Manchester City, and managed to come out of it unscathed, picking a point against the Citizens as they drew 3-3. Moussa Dembele scored two goals on the day, and his opener set a Celtic record:
Raheem Sterling's own goal made it two for the Bhoys, but their third goal came courtesy of that dude Dembele again, with a fantastic overhead kick that put the home side up 3-2.
The touch, the turn, and the strike are all world class. But the defending? Bruv, what's going on here? Aleksandar Kolarov had all day to hoof this one clear, but it falls on his weaker right foot. And hilarity ensues.
To be fair, it's not all Kolarov's fault. Somehow David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Pablo Zabaleta all conspire to lose Nir Britton, who duly slips in Kieran Tierney. He's conveniently kept onside by Gael Clichy, who does what every single last defender sleeping on the job is required to do by law: raise his hand futilely to ask for offsides. The comedy of errors doesn't stop there though, and Kolarov completes the trifecta to let Moussa contort his body and lash it home.
So much brilliance and so much fail all in one play. It's perfect.
