San Diego recovers from poor 1st half, beats Bethesda 71-56

SAN DIEGO (AP) Duda Sanadze scored 21 points and San Diego recovered from a shaky first half to beat Bethesda 71-56 on Wednesday night.

Sanadze was only 1 of 8 from 3-point range but 8 of 18 overall. The Toreros shot only 37 percent and made just 4 of 30 3-point attempts. Jito Kok grabbed 11 rebounds.

San Diego (2-5) was down by nine in the first half until the Toreros finished the half on a 9-3 run to trail 35-32. The Flames (0-4) shot 53.6 percent in the first half, making 5 of 8 3-point attempts while the Toreros were 1 of 14 from the arc.

Brett Bailey's 3-point play and five points from Sanadze gave the Toreros the lead for good at 40-37 with 16:37 to go. San Diego went up 10 with 5:27 to go and maintained a double-figures lead till the end.

Mark Ware and Geric Leath scored 11 points each for Bethesda (0-4), an NCCAA school.
