Conor McGregor 'very close to inking' a deal to fight Floyd Mayweather
Conor McGregor is almost ready to sign the dotted line for his next fight.
For months, the UFC lightweight champion has been embroiled in negotiations with retired boxing king Floyd Mayweather as the two sides attempted to agree to a deal that would undoubtedly put together one of the biggest fights in combat sports history.
There has been a ton of skepticism from everybody involved on whether or not the two sides could finally come to an agreement on a financial split for the profits on the fight.
Now it appears McGregor is ultra confident that he will get a contract signed in the very near future that will ultimately earn the UFC superstar the biggest payday of his entire career.
"I'm ready. I look forward to it. I'm excited and I'm prepared. We're very close to inking it," McGregor revealed when speaking to IFL TV. "I'm not going to say no more, we're very close that's it."

Sources have told FOX Sports that the tentative date for the McGregor vs. Mayweather fight is sometime in mid-September in Las Vegas, assuming all sides can come to a timely agreement. But nothing is certain at this stage of negotiations.
McGregor would also likely be expected to move his training camp to Las Vegas for the fight after the birth of his first child in late April or early May.
While the matchup with Mayweather would be the first professional boxing match of McGregor's career, the Irishman is certainly very confident about his chances in the fight.
"[Expletive] Floyd. Trust me, this whole boxing world don't know what they're going to see when I roll in here," McGregor shouted. "I'm unpredictable. Nobody knows what they're in for.
"Everybody's writing me off. They're going to be in shock. Make no mistake about it."
Of course, McGregor would be a massive underdog going up against Mayweather, who retired in 2015 with a perfect 49-0 career record.
Still, McGregor has proven plenty of people wrong before with his bold proclamations when he arrived in the UFC. Though this would definitely be the biggest mountain he's ever had to climb.
