David Teymur earns another vicious knockout, calls out lightweight Sage Northcutt

Swedish lightweight David Teymur earned his second knockout under the UFC banner Saturday night when he finished opponent Jason Novelli with a series of punches at UFC Fight Night in Salt Lake City.
Teymur easily controlled the fight in the opening round, building a 20-6 striking advantage over the first five minutes via an array of accurate strikes.
Teymur continued his success early in the second round, when dropped his opponent with a stiff left hand before following up with a barrage of heavy-handed hooks that put Novelli out on his feet, and eventually on his butt. Referee Herb Dean stepped in and called the fight at the 3:34 mark of the second round.
“I know I have the best striking and I’m going to take MMA striking to the next level.” Teymur said in his post-fight interview.
The win marks Teymar second consecutive second-round knockout since coming off the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter and improves his record to 5-1 overall. And after the big win, he was sure to let the promotion know who he wants to fight next.
“I want to say one thing, my next opponent, I hope you are watching my right now … You know what I’m going to do with you? Sage Northcutt, my next fight! I hope you hear that. Sage Northcutt, I challenge you!”
