Anderson's 15 help Northern Iowa defeat Evansville 70-63

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Tytan Anderson scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half and Northern Iowa beat Evansville 70-63 on Tuesday night.

Anderson had 10 rebounds for the Panthers (12-8, 6-3 Missouri Valley Conference). Nate Heise added 15 points while shooting 6 for 12, including 2 for 6 from beyond the arc, and he also had six rebounds. Bowen Born shot 5 for 13, including 2 for 7 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points.

Yacine Toumi led the Purple Aces (11-9, 2-7) in scoring, finishing with 20 points, six rebounds and two steals. Chuck Bailey III added 14 points for Evansville. In addition, Tanner Cuff had 13 points.

Heise scored nine points in the first half and Northern Iowa went into the break trailing 31-28. Northern Iowa used a 10-0 second-half run to erase a three-point deficit and take the lead at 38-31 with 17:09 left in the game.

Northern Iowa visits Drake and Evansville hosts Illinois State both on Saturday.
