Baldwin scores 15, VCU knocks off Manhattan 73-56

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Adrian Baldwin Jr. scored 15 points as VCU beat Manhattan 73-56 to open the season Monday night.

Baldwin had nine assists and three steals for the Rams. Brandon Johns Jr. added 13 points while going 5 of 7 from the field, and they also had five rebounds. Jamir Watkins shot 4 for 10 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.

Elijah Buchanan led the way for the Jaspers with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Manhattan also got 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks from Josh Roberts. In addition, Nick Brennen finished with seven points.
