Banks makes school-record 10 3-pointers to lead UNC Asheville past Appalachian State 76-63
HICKORY, N.C. (AP) — Josh Banks hit a program-record 10 3-pointers and scored 33 points as UNC Asheville beat Appalachian State 76-63 on Thursday night.
Banks only missed two of his attempts from the arc. Nicholas McMullen scored 12 points while finishing 6 of 8 from the floor, and added 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Drew Pember was 4 of 12 shooting, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 4 from the line to finish with 11 points.
The Mountaineers (9-3) were led by Donovan Gregory, who posted 18 points, six rebounds and four steals. Tre'Von Spillers added 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for Appalachian State. CJ Huntley also had eight points, six rebounds and two blocks. The Mountaineers ended an eight-game winning streak with the loss.
