Brown and Louisiana-Lafayette secure 76-72 OT win over SMU

DALLAS (AP) — Jordan Brown scored 26 points, including four in the overtime, and Louisiana-Lafayette defeated SMU 76-72 on Tuesday night.

Zhuric Phelps converted a three-point play for SMU with 24 seconds left in regulation to force overtime tied 67-67. Louisiana-Lafayette outscored SMU 9-5 in the extra period.

Brown added eight rebounds for the Ragin' Cajuns (5-0). Greg Williams Jr. scored 19 points while shooting 7 for 13, including 4 for 9 from beyond the arc, and added nine rebounds. Joe Charles finished 3 of 6 from the field to finish with seven points, while adding eight rebounds.

Phelps finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks for the Mustangs (2-3). Efe Odigie added 18 points and 11 rebounds for SMU. Zach Nutall also recorded 13 points.

Brown scored 14 points in the first half and Louisiana went into halftime trailing 34-30. Williams led Louisiana with 11 points in the second half as his team outscored SMU by four points over the final half.
