Davis has 19 as Central Michigan downs Old Dominion 58-57

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Jemal Davis' 19 points helped Central Michigan defeat Old Dominion 58-57 on Saturday.

Davis shot 4 for 8 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 11 of 13 from the free throw line for the Chippewas (14-10, 8-3 Mid-American Conference), who held on to the lead over the final 4 1/2 minutes. Derrick Butler added 13 points while shooting 5 for 13, including 2 for 7 from beyond the arc, and they also had nine rebounds and three steals. Aidan Rubio shot 4 for 8, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc to finish with 10 points.

The Monarchs (6-19, 2-11 Sun Belt Conference) were led in scoring by Chaunce Jenkins, who finished with 16 points. Tyrone Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds for Old Dominion. In addition, R.J. Blakney finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
