Davis scores 30, makes school-record 10 3s as Northwestern State defeats Southern-New Orleans
NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Cliff Davis scored 30 points and made a school-record 10 3-pointers to lead Northwestern State over Southern-New Orleans 99-75 on Tuesday night.
Davis’ record night helped the Demons (2-10) snap a 10-game losing streak. His barrage of seven first-half 3-pointers, on just 10 attempts, equaled his previous career high for 3s in a game.
Duane Posey and Braelon Bush each had a double-double for Northwestern State. Posey had 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Bush had 12 points and 10 assists. Anthony Thomas and Justin Wilson also scored 12 points apiece.
Jamal Gibson led the Knights in scoring, finishing with 30 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks. Gibson was 14 of 22 from the field. Southern-New Orleans also got 12 points and eight rebounds from Isaiah Lewis. Rodreekas Bush finished with 11 points.
